It is a not-for-profit Swiss bilingual (English-French) Foundation run by a Director-General and governed by a Board composed of members who are elected, co-opted or nominated by the Swiss state authorities. The school has over 4000 students, from 141 nationalities and speaking 92 mother tongues. A range of educational programmes is offered on three separate all-age campuses: La Grande Boissière; Campus des Nations; and La Ch?aigneraie. There is a centralised system of admissions, with applicants requesting admissions to one or more of the three campuses which are widely separated geographically. All campuses have good accommodation which has been significantly added to and improved in recent years. The school has extensive arrangements to support students with needs for additional learning support and for support in the school’s two languages of instruction (English and French). It also offers extra-curricular classes to support students’ home languages. There are extensive guidance and university admissions arrangements and most students go on to higher education in a wide range of countries. Many extra-curricular sporting and other activities are available on all campuses, as are summer camps. All campuses offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and a High School Diploma. See next section for information on campuses. |
