Applied
Language and Intercultural Studies at Dublin City University Ireland welcome to the school of applied language and intercultural studiesIn the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies we focus on
research and teaching in a wide range of areas related to language and
culture. We are concerned in a special way with the development of
scholarship in translation studies, language studies, intercultural
studies and the interface between language and technology. We are committed to fostering the knowledge and critical skills required
in order to better understand cultural difference, contrasts between
languages, the processes of language learning and teaching and a variety
of other issues relating to language and culture. We combine these
research interests with a commitment to high-quality teaching, and
provide both a forum for critical inquiry and an environment in which to
learn about the applications of this research in the world outside
academia. International applicants who do not meet the entry requirements for our
undergraduate degree programs may qualify for our International
Foundation Certificate program that are specially designed for

Communication SALIS is offering a unique new degree for non-native speakers of
English. English Studies (BALIC) is three year, full-time and offers a
mix of language study and analysis of cultural and intercultural
