Required subjects include English for all programs and other faculty-specific requirements. Saint Mary's University offers conditional acceptance to international students who satisfy the academic requirements for admission. Students who successfully complete the highest level of EAP (Level six) at the Saint Mary's University Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Centre may be admitted to undergraduate programs without a standardized language examination. Students whose first language is not English and who have not attended an English language secondary school must provide official results from one of the standardized tests below:
I.
A minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a
Foreign Language (TOEFL) (minimum computerized TOEFL score 213), minimum
internet based score 80.
II.
An aggregate grade of C or higher on the Cambridge
First Certificate in English.
III.
A minimum score of 80 on the Michigan Examination (MELAB).
IV.
An Average of 4.5 on the CanTest administered by Saint
Mary's University.
V.
A minimum score of 6.5 on the International English
Language Testing System (IELTS).
VI.
A minimum score of 60 on the Canadian Academic English
Language (CAEL) assessment.
VII.
By successfully completing the highest level of
English for Academic Purposes (Level Six) at the TESL Centre. Note:
Most students submit applications for admission and residence by
January/February.
